Parasite wood is the parasitic mistletoe plant( a mushroom like growth) that grows on trees in Bali. The parasite vine often destroys the branches of the tree if not removed. The parasite wood is cut from the tree, dried and carved to create these beautiful wood carvings whilst also helping to save the tree from dying.
